Peacock for Art is glad to announce and welcome guest curator Yves Chatap to Cairo! We are collaborating for a photography exhibition at the Africa 2017 | Business for Africa, Egypt and the World Summit being held in Sharm el Sheikh this December, supported by COMESA (Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa). There we will be also showcasing a commissioned artwork by a renowned Egyptian artist for the main icon of the forum. The "Stories" exhibition aims to bring together 20 photographers representative of the African scene and its diaspora. The theme addressed for this proposal focuses on developments, changes and its mutations. From documentary photography to more conceptual photography, our understanding is built through the works to help strengthen our perception of Africa. Stay tuned for our selected 20 African photographers, and updates in the next few days! #photography #exhibition #summit #africa #africanart #africanphotography #egypt #sharmelsheikh #opportunity #development #photographyforchange #inspire #buildtalent #peacockforart

'Planets in my head' by Yinka Shonibare made in 2011. The work of Shonibare raises questions about the legacy of colonialism while downstairs in the hall of the Tropenmuseum a workingconference was organised about the 'Shared History' of all inhabitants of Amsterdam. It felt like Yinka's child was observing the participants and listening carefully that not only the Western canon was discussed. It was at least for me a good feeling that the artwork of Shonibare was there and watching us, but probably nobody else in the public has noticed it. @africanartstories #africanartstories #amsterdam #visualstorytelling #africancontemporaryart #contemporaryafricanart #africanphotography #yinkashonibare #decolonizethemuseum #detropen #gemeenteamsterdam #simonekukenheim #rijksmuseum #martinegosselink #tropenmuseum #waynemodest #amsterdammuseum #imaralimon #simonezeefuik #noralybeyer
