What I love about when my guest join the hair journey there will always be roadmapping & endless color opportunities! Melt melt melt ️

The behind the scenes of what it takes to remove black at home dye from hair that's already difficult to lighten. This lovely client came in for her first balayage session with me, and in addition to the residual black color in her hair, she had recently had a perm-which makes the hair very vulnerable and sensitized. So I had to be very gentle about lightening her. . . The results are subtle and warm, which is a likely result when removing very dark hair color from naturally dark and thick hair, especially for a first session. Looking forward to taking her even lighter in a couple months! . Patiently lightening your hair little by little will both (over time) get you lighter but also preserve the integrity of your hair much more than aggressively lightening it.
