There’s dishes in the sink. The laundry needs to be done. The floors need vacuuming. And this mommas hair is a hot mess. One of my favorite workout shirts. It had been tucked away for a while but I grabbed it this morning and it could not have been more appropriate for today and well honestly the last couple of days. “You are stronger than you think...” push forward and be proud. One week ago, I became a mom to the funniest, sweetest, most peculiar little soul I've ever come across. I always thought I'd cry when Ellis was born, but instead I was calm and said "Nice to finally meet you.... We did it". There was no falling in love, no release or climax of emotion, it was like he was always here and I had always known him. I still have no idea how I made another person, it's baffling. I stare at him all the time trying to figure it out.
