What you see is all a matter of perspective. So of course I choose to work out in front of the most flattering gym mirrorAs someone who struggled with weight and eating until my mid 20s it’s been a bit of a mindset challenge to consciously step my exercise down over the last few months for new health/ fertility goals. More yoga and fewer heavy weight sessions...not going to lie it’s been tough to feel the control go and see my body become softer as I gain more fat and lose definition. Others may not see it but I feel it. But life is all about priorities and my long term health and happiness is the choice I make for 2018. Maybe next year my priorities will change again. Numbers aren’t suppose to put pressure on ourselves to the point that we become uncomfortable with our own skin. So what if you’re petite or a plus size? The important thing is a healthy, balanced, and active lifestyle. ️ . . I’ve had my fair share of insecurity when it comes to my figure. I don’t usually compare myself to others, but to my old self: younger and fitter. And when I used to look back, I wasn’t happy or proud of what my body has changed into! hahaha! Not kidding. So aside from turning my excuses to exercises, I changed my eating habits too. Please read on >>> . . OCT 2017 vs JAN 2018. Is there a difference? More than losing 5kg and change in body composition, my outlook in food and clean eating has changed. 🤓 . . Strict diet vs Intuitive eating. I will simplify this. I was on a strict diet as per my doctor’s advice (re acid reflux). Then I slowly incorporate variety in my food without sacrificing my #guthealth . It was a struggle to find what works best for me. Eventually, completely avoiding food that trigger inflammation, portion control, caffeine-free, and sugar free diet worked for me. Today was a planned double run but my body had other plans (only got in my noon attitude adjustment run) so tomorrow’s yoga will be a 20 min practice so I can get in a quick 20 min run. Then Zumba with Olga later in the evening. I’m not feeling fitness ‘success’ lately even though I’m killing it with runs, spin, yoga, Zumba & strength so I’ll fix my pony tail & try a messy bun instead!
