@joanransley captures our Handcrafted Porcelain ‘Impressed Line’ tableware. Our favourite Deep Bowl, perfect for Winter Comfort food. Link in bio. #johnjulian #ceramics #handcrafted #foodie #repost @joanransley (@get_repost ) ・・・ January in Yorkshire is turning out to be so dark, gloomy and wet. The River Wharfe just down the road from me is raging and swirling like a dervish. So I made a bright, silky smooth butternut squash soup to cheer myself up and it goes really well with the twisted rye bread I made yesterday. A perfect match. #foodportraits #huffposttaste #onthetableproject #cookbooks #foodphotography #foodstyling #bread #baking#italianfood #foodphotographyandstyling @foodphotoaward @pinkladyappleuk #pinkladysnapsjan18 Beautiful Impressed Line deep bowl by @johnjulianuk

One of the earliest mentions of mince pies in a document was in the 16th century by Thomas Tusser who wrote about mince or ‘shred’ pies in his 1557 list of Christmas foods. Shred because the meat was shredded with a knife before filling the pies. My home made mincemeat includes candied peel which I have been making for years now from the skins of juiced oranges. I ran out of brandy and so these are spiked with a dash of orangy Grand Marnier and dark dark Oloroso… #christmas #mincepies #foodstyling #johnjulian #fujixt1 Hand thrown porcelain expresso cup and saucer by @johnjulianuk @foodphotoaward #pinkladysnapsdec17 @pinkladyappleuk
