Nadine Spalter’s recent relief work Gestation is made from thousands of hand-thrown ceramics. The clay was gathered over a two year period from beaches on Auckland's west coast. The concept of being ‘in waiting’ is explored through the piece. The tiny pots, already formed, wait in the earth to be 'born'. Nadine draws parallels to the human condition – suggesting that we are already the person we are waiting to become. This work is available now for sale at Black Door Gallery - Parnell. . @nadine_spalter_ceramics #blackdoorgallery #nzpottery #nzart #nzceramics
