Since so many people comment things like “goals” & “your life is amazing,” I want this post to be a reminder of real life beyond this clip of happiness, blue skies & bikini handstands with @michael_roszak. This morning was rough. Horrible stomach pains woke me up at 5:30 am (turns out there definitely WAS some sort of dairy in my meal yesterday after all ). Not only did I stagger out of bed to throw up, but I also had some sort of allergic reaction going on, too. My eyes were puffy, burning & starting to swell along my entire cheekbones. When I finally got around to checking my phone- I was immediately frustrated at my ongoing battle with the postal system failing me time & time again with very important items. I then saw texts from a friend who I knew was annoyed at me, which didn’t help my overall mindset, to say the least. And finally, I was hit with the much heavier (& clearly more meaningful) news of a family member being diagnosed with cancer. This is all the while I’m trying to hold down my food from the night before as we’re (semi frantically) packing for a 3 hour road trip down south (we were meant to be out of the door at 7:30 am). As the tension continued to build both mentally & physically- i found myself snappy & impatient (which is a polite way of saying I was being a biaatttch). To which I must say that I’m lucky to have a man who just hugged me, looked me in the eyes & said, “I’m here to help you. Please just let me know if I can do anything to make this easier.” Along the drive, i puked 2 more times. In fact, the 2nd time was about 30 mins prior to this video (which is why these front body openers & sways felt SO good). Would you have guessed this if you’d just seen the clip alone? Probably not. You’d see my life as this square alone. All turquoise & sunshine- without these dark clouds of reality which sometimes are just LIFE. Yes, my temper can get the best of me in stressful situations. Yes, I can get in tiffs with family & friends. And yes, even though I often stay in places which seem like “paradise,” I am still affected by tragedy, loss & pain. And that’s okay. This is the real human experience. Not a social media illusion.

55/365 What am I avoiding? Paying bills, reconnection with people who provoke my emotional nature, clothes shopping... I’ll stop there, don’t want to overwhelm. Clearly, this things are all worth doing and necessary. . . I fight being human. It’s much more pleasant for me to hide away and detach from the “realness” of everything. These connections I make daily when I let go are deep, caring and vulnerable, it can be exhausting.... contemplating different ways to have better energetic boundaries. Cheers and goodnight.
