In today's episode I summarized briefly the standing asanas sequence. . Now, a bit of history . Ashtanga Vinyasa sequences as a story of thousands of years, and we really don't when, or where was created. Probably, the first practitioners were Vamana Rishi, and Patanjali. But, there is a little blur about that. . However, it was Guruji Sri Tirumali Krishnamacharya who brought the series to Mysore, in the early 1920's. . Krishnamacharya was exploring the Himalayas mountain when accidentally met Rama Mohan Brahmachari, who became his teacher. . In fact, the Ashtanga Vinyasa series was practiced by the Himalayans Monks to light up the inner fire, and keep them warm during winter time. . During an excursion on the Himalayas, T. Krishnamachary saw a man practising asanas semi dressed outside a cave. He was enchanted by those moves. So, he tried to approach the man. But, the eremite didn't want company, and went inside his cave. . The morning after the man exited the cave and saw again T. Krishnamacharya. So, he asked "why are you still here? “ T. K. " I want to learn those moves" and the yogi replied "No" The morning after: "I want to learn" "NO" etc.. . However, T. Krishnamacharya didn't give up, and after seven days of annoying persistence, the eremite accepted to teach to him. The cave man was Rama Mohan Brahmachari. . The training went on for seven years and half. . Rama Mohan Brahmachari during winter time was teaching, and practicing the Ashtanga Vinyasa sequence, and during the summer a different Vinyasa, where the poses were held for 3 minutes. . Apparently, I live in the perfect country to practice the Ashtanga Vinyasa 🇬🇧🇬🇧 .
