Travers️. Sadly Shavaz‘ swollen leg turned out to be another acute inflammation... this means we have to start again with cooling her leg and trying to get the swelling down. We can only hand-walk her for 20-30 minutes every day. It is so frustrating to see her at the same point as we were in August, but there‘s really nothing we can do🤷‍️. And only because she tripped on a trailride last thursday (which I find kind of hard to believe that this was the only reason... but oh well). So it’s the wellness-program again for Shavaz. #horse #horses #horseriding #horsesofinstagram #freiberger #equestrian #equitation #equestrianlife #bitless #bitlessriding #bitlessbridle #dressage

From last friday. Yesterday, when Shavaz was on a trailride with her owner, she tripped and now her right hindleg is swollen again and she is lame. I just went for a little walk with her today. In walk, she was very stiff in the beginning, but after some time she walked normally and didn‘t look like she was in pain. But when I tried to trot a few meters she didn’t want to put weight on her leg and just made smaller steps than normal. This afternoon the vet will come and look at her, so we‘ll see... #horse #horses #dressage #horseriding #equestrian #equestrianlife #bitless #bitlessriding #bitlessbridle #freiberger #equitation

From today️. We did some dressage. Shavaz was a bit tense in trot and easily distracted, but her canter was quite nice and energetic. I even tried some walk-canter transitions and she did very well. Still far from perfect, but today I felt some power from behind. Usually it's very hard to get her to use her hindlegs and really push into the transition, instead of trotting and wanting to run into canter. When she was taught to do canter transitions years ago, she always trotted really fast before cantering and it's difficult to get her to change this habit and use her hindlegs properly #horse #horses #equestrian #equestrianlife #equestrianism #equitation #horseriding #dressage #bitless #bitlessriding #freiberger #horsesofinstagram

Half-pass (work in progress). This is her more difficult side, but I'm quite happy that she starts to grasp the concept of crossing and engaging especially her hindlegs. Sometimes I have to ask her again and again to be more active with her hindlegs because she can be quite lazy. Oh well🤷‍️ - she also has days where she can go crazy, but not as often anymore as a few years ago good night! #horse #horses #dressage #riding #horseriding #horsesofinstagram #bitless #bitlessriding #bitlessbridle #freiberger #equestrian #equestrianism #equestrianlife #equitation

Working on some half-pass in walk today️. Shavaz was really relaxed and quite supple. We are just slowly increasing the intensity of the training after our break due to her hindlegs being swollen (they're almost back to normal now, but Shavaz lost a bit of muscle/stamina and gained weight). But I'm so happy that we can do dressage again. #horse #horses #horseriding #horsesofinstagram #equestrian #equestrianlife #equitation #freiberger #dressage #bitless #bitlessriding #bitlessbridle
